FLOORTIME is a relationship-based therapy for children with autism. It is called FLOORTIME because the parent gets down on the floor with the child to play and interact with the child on the same level. FLOORTIME is an alternative to ABA therapy.

The aim of FLOORTIME is to focus on the child's individual interests, take into account his sensory characteristics and work on developing the emotional spectrum, verbalising emotions and strengthening creativity. Therapists and parents engage children in activities that each child enjoys. They enter into the child's play. They follow the child's example.
